Today, supposed to be having discipleship at church this morning at 10:30am, but guess what? both me and ade overslept again ! gotta solve this problem...so its postponed to tomorrow morning =/

Before church today i went to facial again. haha to clear scars. and im NOT vain.
yeah service today was YET another enriching expeience. okie so i'll share with you guys, anything you're not clear of, feel free to ask me :)

Saturday, 14/10/06 - Overcoming Loneliness.

things to note :
- the devil can play with our minds, BUT he cannot touch us.
- its is not the amount of people around that determines our loneliness.
- people can feel loneliness even when they're married, leading to divorce.
- we are living in a loneliness producing society
- even in homes and churches, people avoid each other, this leads to them blindly sharing with strangers, instead with the people that can help you
- sometimes, we bring loneliness to ourselves, but at times it cant be controlled

FOUR causes of loneliness :
1. TRANSITIONS - in life we'll surely go through times of transitions, eg : exams, growing older, and these changes can cause loneliness.

2. SEPERATIONS - eg : going for national service, going overseas for studies, etc.

3. OPPOSITION - eg : when people blaspheme against us, reject us because we're christians. it will cause us to have a reluctance to share with other people as when we let ourselves be affected by this, it'll cause us to build up walls, this forms a barrier between you and other people, which will bring in feelings of loneliness.

4. REJECTION - eg : when your friends desert in times of need, in times that you need support most.

* added point : at times when leaders feed others with the word of God, they forget to feed themselves.

WRONG methods of conquering loneliness :
- being a workaholic and drowning ourselves in our work.
- materialism

FOUR THINGS TO DO :

1. Make best of the situation
- sleeping is a form of escaping.
- resist the temptation to do nothing
- an IDLE mind, is the DEVIL'S WORKSHOP.
- making a paradigm shirt.

2. Focus on the positives
- resentment will only make you LONELIER
- we cannot control the direction we go
- Phillipians 23:8 - Finally, brothers, what ever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about scuh things.

3. Recognise God's presence
- God is always with us
- Hebrews 13:5 - keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, Because God has said, " Never will i leave you; never will i forsake you. "- God is everywhere and we can talk to him at all times.
- loneliness is a signal for us to be more aquainted with God.

4. Get caught up in serving and NOT being served
- instead of focusing inwards, focus OUTWARDS.
- Mark 10:45 - For even the son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom to many.

today's sermons are definitely helpful and enriching especially those that are facing and constantly attacked by loneliness. from this we learn and know that God is always around us and he's always willing to hear our cries.

okie, i sort of had a breakthrough in my walk with christ today. i didn't expect that one day i would be discipling someone. But today was my first attempt on discipling someone, Jia Gen :) i was not really prepared and all, it was only planned for me to observe how kenneth disciple his disciples. But, at the very last minute, ade told me to disciple Jia Gen. i was very tense and didn't really know what to do. i prayed to God that he will guide me along and that he will use me to teach Jia Gen his word. yes, and it turned out to be quite okay. i still need more confidence in my speech and i need to know God's word even more clearly. ade guided me along and i soon got the hang of it. Got to work harder, i want to let people know the word of God better...lastly, we prayed for JiaGen to receive his tongues, and he Just received it today ! amazing, first time that i heard someone speak in tongues for the first through prayer. =)

so, tomorrow will be discipleship, i will share what ive learnt on my next post :D lastly, post exam activity photos ! ....
